Europe Faces Jet Fuel Supply Gap After Middle East Imports Collapse: IEA

Europe is struggling to replace lost jet fuel imports from the Middle East after supplies sharply declined in April, according to the International Energy Agency (IEA).

The IEA said jet fuel arrivals into Europe fell from 330,000 barrels per day in March to just 60,000 barrels per day in April following the US-Israel war on Iran and the effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

The agency warned that Europe needs to replace at least 80% of the lost supply to avoid fuel shortages during the busy summer travel season. However, European net jet fuel imports recovered to only 70% of March levels in April, raising concerns over aviation fuel availability across the region.
