The administration of Donald Trump is reportedly reviewing possible legal and political action against former Cuban leader Raúl Castro as pressure on Havana continues to intensify.

According to reports, senior US officials have been discussing measures linked to Cuba’s security operations and its regional activities as Washington expands its hardline approach toward the communist-led government.

The reported discussions come amid growing tensions between the United States and Cuba, with the Trump administration already increasing sanctions, travel restrictions and diplomatic pressure in recent months.

Multiple US media reports, including AP, said the discussions remain internal and no final decision has been publicly announced.

Analysts believe any move targeting Castro directly would mark a significant escalation in US-Cuba relations and could trigger strong political reactions across Latin America.

Cuban authorities have repeatedly rejected accusations from Washington, calling US policies politically motivated and harmful to bilateral relations.
