Chinese Tanker Crosses Strait of Hormuz as Trump Renews Iran Threats

A Chinese crude oil tanker has successfully crossed the strategically critical Strait of Hormuz amid escalating tensions linked to the Iran conflict.

Tracking data shows the Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) Yuan Hua Hu, operated by Chinese state-owned COSCO Shipping, moved through the waterway using a route close to Iranian-controlled waters.

The vessel reportedly turned off its public tracking system during part of the journey, a move increasingly seen among ships navigating the region amid security concerns.

The development came as US President Donald Trump renewed warnings toward Iran before departing for China.

“Iran will either do the right thing or we will finish the job,” Trump told reporters while emphasizing that preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons remains his administration’s top priority.

The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most important oil shipping routes, with global markets closely watching any disruption linked to the Iran crisis.
