Lahore, King Edward Medical University has sent PC One to Health Department for robotic surgeries.
PC1 has been sent to Mayo Hospital to start robotic surgeries, services of 2 expert surgeons have also been hired for robotic surgeries.
According to the hospital administration, the services of Dr. Usman Ismail and Umar Waraich have been obtained, a technician has been recruited for robotic surgery and has been given a scale of grade 17.
Robotic surgery will start at Mayo Hospital after government approval and other requirements are fulfilled, according to the hospital administration, robotic surgery will be started in general surgery, gynecology and urology.
It should be noted that compared to other surgeries, robotic surgery is a much easier and better outcome surgery for the patient, which results in less pain and faster recovery.
In 2022, robotic surgery was started in a private hospital in Lahore. In an event related to robotic surgery in June 2022, Professor M.R. Zaki said that a good surgery can be done through robotic surgery and kidney, bladder and cancer patients. It could be used in a better way.
In this method of treatment, the patient can go home on the second day of the operation. Robotic surgery is not for every work, he said that we have become a bridge with the most modern countries of the world.
Professor M.R. Zaki further said that the credit of bringing robotic technology to Pakistan belongs to Prof. Dr. Mahmood Ayaz who brought this treatment method to Pakistan with his hard work and effort and today we are able to serve Pakistani patients with it.
