Karachi: Typhoid vaccination campaign started, parents who did not get vaccinated were warned
Sindh government has started typhoid vaccination campaign in Karachi and Hyderabad, the campaign will continue till May 25.
Health Minister Ezra Pechuho has inaugurated the Typhoid Vaccination Campaign in Karachi and Hyderabad. Typhoid vaccination campaign will continue till May 25 in 7 districts of Karachi and 1 district of Hyderabad. Ezra Pechuho has appealed to parents to get their children vaccinated.
Project Director EPI Sindh Dr. Naeem said that this vaccine is for children aged 9 months to 15 years, 7 thousand volunteers are participating in the campaign.
Dr. Naeem said that typhoid vaccines will also be applied in schools through 31-way services, the target of giving typhoid preventive vaccine to 89 lakh children is set.
The Sindh Health Minister said that diseases spread very quickly and it is important to prevent them, contaminated water and food are the cause of the spread of typhoid.
He said that the treatment of typhoid is possible, water should be boiled to prevent it, the old vaccine and antibiotics were not working to prevent typhoid, the new vaccine works to prevent typhoid.
Ezra Pechuho added that parents are also given a message to vaccinate their children against typhoid.
