Cannot guarantee clean and transparent elections, Caretaker Prime Minister
According to Sky News, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar has said that clean and transparent elections cannot be completely guaranteed in Pakistan.
While giving an interview to the British news agency, he said, "I can assure you that despite all the flaws in the system, no particular party or group is being targeted."
Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar said that there was no intention to stop internet services on election day. However, the caretaker government took this step keeping in mind the recent incidents of terrorism.
On the other hand, caretaker Prime Minister Anwar Haq Kakar today visited the polling station set up at Model School for Boys G64 in Islamabad and reviewed the security arrangements.
Talking to the media, the caretaker prime minister said that the elections are still peaceful, citizens should try to use their rights. To the journalist's question that the mobile service has been stopped across the country, the Prime Minister replied that he has an idea of the difficulties caused by the shutdown of the mobile service.
