Newly published Natalie Harp letters shed light on devotion of aide now central to Trump’s information flow

WASHINGTON — Personal letters written by Natalie Harp to Donald Trump before his return to the White House have been published in full for the first time, providing a new look at the extraordinary loyalty of an aide who has since become one of the president's most consistently present assistants and an important conduit for information reaching him.
The two letters were written during or around Trump's May 2023 trip to his golf properties in Scotland and Ireland and were published by the Daily Beast on Thursday. Portions of Harp's correspondence had previously been reported by other news organizations, including accounts that she told Trump he was “all that matters” to her and referred to him as her “Guardian and Protector.” The newly published material provides fuller context around those previously reported passages, although SCN NEWS has not independently authenticated the original documents.
In one letter, Harp expressed concern about disappointing Trump and thanked him for his support, signing off with the description of him as her “Guardian and Protector in this Life.” In another, she recalled spending time with Trump on the golf course and referred to her own nickname, “Human Printer,” a label she acquired while travelling with him because she routinely carried equipment to print articles, social-media posts and other material for him to read.
The significance of the correspondence lies less in attempting to interpret Harp's private feelings than in what happened to her professional role afterward. Harp had joined Trump's operation in 2022 after previously working at One America News Network and remained with him through his period outside office, the 2024 presidential campaign and his return to the White House. She now formally serves as both Special Assistant to the President and Executive Assistant to the President.
Her responsibilities have also expanded well beyond operating a portable printer. Current reporting describes Harp as frequently remaining close to Trump, helping manage his social-media activity and supplying information and communications as the president requests them. The Wall Street Journal reported this week that her direct access has made her a recognizable gatekeeper among Republicans seeking to reach Trump, while she remains involved in the rapid flow of material surrounding the president.
That progression gives the 2023 letters greater relevance today than they would have carried when they were written. Harp was then a highly committed member of Trump's political operation; she is now a White House official working immediately around the president. Her unusual access has consequently attracted increased scrutiny in Washington, particularly over how information and messages move through Trump's less conventional working structure.
Separate reporting this week has raised questions about Harp's security-clearance history. The Guardian reported that she worked in Trump's second White House for an extended period before receiving a clearance, while the White House says she now holds a valid security clearance. That issue is separate from the letters themselves, but it has contributed to wider scrutiny of an aide whose job can place her near presidential communications and sensitive discussions.
The letters have also generated extensive commentary about Harp and Trump that goes beyond what the documents themselves establish. SCN NEWS is not interpreting the correspondence as evidence of a romantic, sexual or other unverified personal relationship. The documents, as reported, establish what Harp wrote; they do not establish a broader characterization of their relationship, and no such inference is necessary to understand the public-interest element of the story.
What can be established is that Harp's loyalty to Trump predates her current White House authority. She first entered Trump's political orbit after publicly crediting his administration's Right to Try legislation with helping her during her battle with cancer, appeared at the 2020 Republican National Convention and later joined his team. Her role expanded while Trump was outside the White House, when the “Human Printer” became a regular presence supplying him with material and assisting his communications.
Her position today makes that history more consequential. Presidential influence does not derive solely from formal policymaking authority. Officials who remain physically close to a president, facilitate contacts, transmit messages and supply information can occupy important positions in the White House even when they do not control a conventional policy portfolio.
There is no evidence that Harp independently determines Trump's policies, and SCN NEWS is not making that claim. Her documented importance comes instead from access: she works close to the president and participates in the system through which information and communications reach him. Current reporting indicates that political figures increasingly recognize that access when attempting to communicate with Trump.
The publication of the letters therefore adds a new piece of history to a role already attracting substantial attention. They show that Harp was expressing extraordinary loyalty to Trump in 2023, before his return to power and before she received her current White House titles. What they do not establish is how Trump interpreted those messages or whether the correspondence itself played any role in her subsequent advancement.
That distinction is important because chronology does not establish causation. Harp's continued rise could reflect her availability, work, loyalty, Trump's trust in her or other factors that are not demonstrated by the letters alone.
The strongest verified connection is considerably simpler: the woman who privately described Trump as her “Guardian and Protector” in correspondence reported from 2023 subsequently became one of the aides positioned closest to the information and communications surrounding him in the White House.
The letters tell readers something about Harp's stated devotion. Her current position tells them something independently verifiable about her professional access. Anything beyond those two facts would require evidence that has not been established.
SCN MOST VERIFIED & UNIQUE FACT
The strongest angle is the timeline, not speculation about the relationship: Harp wrote the reported letters in 2023, when she was already working for Trump. She subsequently followed him through the campaign and into government and now serves as Special Assistant and Executive Assistant to the President, while current reporting describes her as a significant conduit for Trump's information and communications.
