New Videos and Court Filings Deepen Scrutiny of Rep. Max Miller Amid Abuse Allegations

A bitter custody dispute involving Ohio Republican Congressman Max Miller has escalated into a major political controversy after newly released videos, court filings and public statements renewed focus on abuse allegations made by his former wife, Emily Moreno. Miller has repeatedly denied all allegations and argues he is the target of a coordinated campaign to damage his reputation.

The controversy centers on claims made by Moreno, the daughter of Bernie Moreno, who has accused Miller of abusive behavior during their marriage, including an alleged incident involving hot water and other claims of physical intimidation. Court filings submitted by Moreno describe several alleged incidents, while Miller maintains the accusations are false and defamatory.

Recent police-related videos and legal filings have pushed the dispute back into the spotlight. The materials emerged amid ongoing court proceedings involving custody of the couple's young daughter and competing claims from both sides regarding family safety and parental conduct.

In a televised interview, Miller firmly rejected the allegations, stating that no evidence supports the claims against him and arguing that the accusations surfaced during an increasingly contentious custody battle. He has also filed a defamation lawsuit seeking damages over what he says are false accusations that have harmed both his personal reputation and political career.

The dispute has become even more complicated after the release of an audio recording publicized by Miller's team. Supporters argue the recording undermines some of the allegations, while attorneys representing Moreno contend the audio supports her account and should be considered by the court. Both sides have cited the recording to strengthen their respective legal positions.

Court records also show additional motions involving restraining-order disputes, discovery battles and disagreements over evidence disclosure. Moreno's legal team has accused Miller of violating court restrictions through media appearances, while Miller's representatives insist he has a right to defend himself publicly against serious accusations.

The case has attracted national attention because it involves two prominent Ohio Republican families and comes as Miller seeks reelection. Political observers say the outcome could become a significant issue in the congressional race, particularly if additional evidence emerges during the ongoing court proceedings.

For now, many of the allegations remain contested, with no final judicial determination on the core abuse claims. The legal battle continues as courts review evidence presented by both sides.
