Marco Rubio Says Washington Expects ‘Serious Offer’ From Tehran TODAY
President Donald Trump has warned Iran the United States could respond “a lot more violently” if Tehran fails to agree to a deal aimed at ending the growing regional conflict.
The warning came as Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed Washington expects to hear a “serious offer” from Iran regarding possible peace negotiations.
Trump Claims Iranian Boats Destroyed
Trump claimed US forces inflicted “great damage” on Iranian military assets during recent clashes near the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the president, “numerous” Iranian boats are now “at the bottom of the sea” after intense military exchanges in the Gulf.
Despite the escalating rhetoric, Trump described the recent attacks as a “love tap” and insisted ceasefire discussions are still ongoing.
Iran Accuses US of Violating Ceasefire
Iranian military officials accused the United States of violating the ceasefire by attacking ships and what Tehran described as “civilian areas.”
Iran also claimed its forces targeted US military vessels in response to the alleged violations.
The latest exchanges have raised fears that the fragile truce could collapse at any moment.
Gulf Nations Back US ‘Project Freedom’
Reports suggest both Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates have approved expanded US access to military bases linked to “Project Freedom” — a major effort aimed at restoring commercial shipping movement through the Strait of Hormuz.
The UAE also confirmed its defense systems intercepted ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones launched from Iran.
Pakistan Pushes for Peace Deal
Pakistan continues playing a key diplomatic role behind the scenes, with officials expressing optimism that a peace agreement could be reached “sooner rather than later.”
The renewed hopes briefly pushed global oil prices to a two-week low.
Lebanon-Israel Talks Continue
Meanwhile, the United States announced that Israel and Lebanon will hold another round of negotiations next week amid continued ceasefire violations involving Iran-backed Hezbollah forces.
Regional tensions remain extremely high as military operations and diplomatic efforts continue simultaneously across the Middle East.
