Iran Adviser Issues Warning to Trump Before Beijing Trip
An adviser to Iran’s supreme leader has warned President Donald Trump not to view the current calm between Washington and Tehran as a victory ahead of his expected visit to Beijing for talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Ali Akbar Velayati, quoted by Iran’s Tasnim news agency, said Trump should not believe the United States has defeated Iran diplomatically or militarily.
“We Defeated You on the Battlefield,” Iranian Official Says
Velayati warned that the US should not mistake Iran’s restraint for weakness.
“Never imagine that by exploiting the calm we are showing today, you will enter Beijing triumphantly,” he said.
He also claimed Iran had already defeated the US “on the battlefield,” adding that Washington should not expect victory in diplomacy either.
Trump Recently Called Iran Ceasefire “Weak”
The comments came after Trump criticized the fragile Iran-US ceasefire, describing it as being on “massive life support” and “unbelievably weak.”
The US president also dismissed Iran’s latest peace proposal as “garbage” and “stupid,” further increasing tensions between both sides.
Strait of Hormuz Remains a Flashpoint
The ceasefire announced last month has become increasingly unstable, with both Iran and US-linked forces reportedly exchanging fire incidents around the Strait of Hormuz.
The growing tensions have raised fresh concerns over regional security, global oil shipments, and the future of diplomatic negotiations.
