Trump Says Iran Ceasefire Is “On Life Support”
Tensions between Iran and the United States are rising again after Tehran issued a fresh warning following comments by President Donald Trump suggesting the fragile ceasefire is “on life support.”
Iranian parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said Tehran’s armed forces are fully prepared for any escalation, warning that the US could face unexpected consequences if pressure on Iran continues.
The warning came after Trump criticized Iran’s latest peace proposals and signaled that the chances of the ceasefire surviving remain extremely limited. His remarks also included renewed threats toward Tehran, further increasing uncertainty across the region.
Ghalibaf, considered one of Iran’s key political and strategic figures, said Iran would respond strongly to any hostile action and warned that “they will be surprised” if conflict resumes.
The latest exchange highlights growing instability surrounding the already fragile Iran-US ceasefire talks, with fears increasing that regional tensions could rapidly escalate again.
