SCN - CALGARY: A heartbreaking case has shocked Calgary after a 37-year-old father was charged with two counts of first-degree murder following the deaths of his young children.
Police confirmed the victims were a 5-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl, whose bodies were discovered inside a vehicle in the city’s northwest.
Chilling 911 Call
According to the Calgary Police Service, the suspect himself contacted emergency services, claiming responsibility and providing his location.
Officers arrived at the scene, took the accused into custody, and later confirmed the tragic discovery inside the vehicle.
Community in Shock

“This is an unimaginable loss,” officials stated, as investigations continue into the timeline and circumstances surrounding the incident.
Family Background Revealed
Police say the parents had separated last year after a long-term relationship and shared custody of the children. While officers had previously responded to domestic calls at the residence, no charges had been filed.
Autopsies are currently underway, and the accused is expected to appear in court again soon.

Members of the local community have begun gathering to mourn the loss and support the children’s mother, who is said to be facing an extremely difficult time without close family nearby.
