NEW YORK: Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni are set to face each other in court as a long-running legal dispute moves to trial following unsuccessful settlement efforts.
The case stems from a lawsuit filed by Lively against her It Ends With Us co-star and director, in which she alleged misconduct and a targeted campaign to damage her reputation. The legal proceedings have continued for over a year, with multiple filings from both sides.
Recent developments indicate that the case will now focus on retaliation-related claims involving Baldoni’s production company, Wayfarer Studios, after earlier claims were dismissed.
Baldoni has denied the allegations, stating that concerns raised during production were addressed and that his actions, including hiring external advisers, were within his rights.
The dispute began during the production and release of It Ends With Us, a film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel. While the film performed strongly at the box office, reports of tension between the lead actors drew public attention.
The case has since expanded, involving extensive legal documentation and raising broader discussions within the entertainment industry regarding professional conduct and workplace dynamics.
With no agreement reached during recent negotiations, the matter is now set to proceed to trial in New York.
