( Washington ) Fresh uncertainty has gripped the region as White House announced plans to send a high-level delegation to Islamabad for potential talks with Iran — even as Tehran firmly denies any direct meeting with the United States.

According to officials, U.S. envoys are expected to arrive for what are being described as exploratory discussions, following rising tensions linked to maritime security and regional stability.

However, Iran’s foreign ministry has rejected reports of direct negotiations, stating that no meeting is scheduled and that any communication will be conveyed through Pakistan as a mediator.

The development comes shortly after the U.S. expanded its naval blockade operations, intensifying pressure on Iranian-linked maritime activity and raising concerns over global trade routes.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has arrived in Islamabad for an official visit, where he is expected to engage with Pakistani leadership on ongoing mediation efforts.

At the same time, regional tensions continue to escalate. Donald Trump has extended a temporary ceasefire, while military activity persists in parts of the Middle East.

In Lebanon, ongoing strikes and clashes have fueled instability, with thousands affected and many displaced amid continued violence.

The latest developments highlight a fragile and rapidly evolving situation — where diplomacy, military pressure, and regional alliances are all in play.
