ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to undertake a crucial three-nation diplomatic tour, visiting Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkiye amid rising tensions in the Middle East.

According to official sources, the visit will begin in Saudi Arabia, where the premier is expected to meet Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to discuss key bilateral and regional issues.

The diplomatic tour aims to strengthen Pakistan’s engagement with friendly nations and coordinate on pressing regional developments, including the evolving situation in the Strait of Hormuz and ongoing US–Iran tensions.

Pakistan has recently gained international attention for its role as a mediator between Washington and Tehran, hosting high-level talks in Islamabad.

Despite intense negotiations lasting over 20 hours, no formal agreement has yet been reached. However, sources suggest that further rounds of talks may take place soon.

During the visit, discussions will also focus on enhancing cooperation across economic, security, and strategic sectors, while reinforcing Pakistan’s position as a key diplomatic player in the region.
