Tulip Siddique appointed as City Minister
According to a Bloomberg News report, Tulip Siddiq has been appointed as UK's City Minister, who is the minister responsible for overseeing the financial services sector.
Siddique, 41, has led Labor's efforts to develop policies for the financial services industry, known as the 'City' after the City of London's financial district.
His appointment has not been formally announced by the government.
In May he told the Financial Times that Labor would push the Financial Conduct Authority, the UK markets regulator, to do more to remove barriers to competition and growth.
