North Waziristan: 2 terrorists killed in clash with forces, 24-year-old captain martyred
Rawalpindi: Two terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in North Waziristan, while a captain was martyred while fighting bravely against the terrorists.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Army, there was an exchange of fire between the security forces and the terrorists in which two militants were killed.
During the clash, 24-year-old Pakistan Army Captain Muhammad Osama bin Arshad, who was leading the operation, was martyred while fighting bravely, ISPR said.
Clearance operation continued to eliminate possible terrorists in the area.
The ISPR said that the security forces are committed to end terrorism, the sacrifices of the brave men strengthen our resolve.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif expressed grief over the martyrdom of Captain Muhammad Osama bin Arshad and prayed for patience for his family.
Shahbaz Sharif said that may Allah raise the ranks of martyrs, our war will continue till the end of the scourge of terrorism.
Last month, a security forces vehicle was hit by an IED in Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as a result of which 7 soldiers including a captain were martyred.
Among those martyred in the IED blast were Captain Muhammad Faraz, Subedar Major Muhammad Nazir, Lance Naik Muhammad Anwar, Lance Naik Hussain Ali, Sepoy Asadullah, Sepoy Manzoor Hussain and Sepoy Rashid Mehmood.
ISPR had said that a clearance operation was conducted to eliminate possible terrorists in the area, security forces are determined to eliminate terrorism, these sacrifices of young men strengthen our determination.
Captain Muhammad Faraz Ilyas Shaheed belonged to Kasur district and was to be married on June 19. He is survived by his parents and siblings.
