The federal government has approved to increase the price of electricity for commercial, agricultural and large consumers.


According to the sources, an increase of 8 rupees 4 paise in the basic price of electricity has been approved for commercial consumers.


Sources say that from July, the price per unit for commercial customers will reach Rs 77 15 paise.


According to the sources, an increase of 6 rupees 62 paise per unit was approved in the basic tariff of agricultural consumers, after which the tariff of agricultural consumers will be increased to 46 rupees 83 paise per unit from July.


Sources say that the electricity tariff for general services has been approved to be increased by 6 rupees 98 paise, from July the electricity tariff per unit for general services will be 61 rupees 3 paise.


According to the sources, an increase of 5 rupees 51 paisa per unit of electricity tariff was approved for large consumers, after which the per unit tariff of large consumers will reach 59 rupees 96 paisa from July.


Apart from this, sources say that approval has been given to maintain the basic electricity tariff for industrial consumers.


According to the sources, Nepra has been informed about the decision of the Federal Cabinet on behalf of the Power Division.
