The Islamabad High Court stopped the government from blocking the mobile phone SIMs of tax non-filers.



Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Aamir Farooq heard the request of the mobile phone company against the government's decision to block the mobile SIMs of non-filers.


The Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court issued an injunction on the petition of the mobile phone company till May 27 and stopped the government from blocking the mobile phone SIMs of non-files.


It should be noted that an agreement has been reached between the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and telecom operators on the issue of blocking the sims of non-filers across the country, under which the series of blocking the sims of non-filers has been started from May 10. .


According to FBR, on May 10, the details of SIM blocking of 5,000 non-filers were provided to the telecom operators.


According to FBR officials, telecom operators have agreed to manually block SIMs in small batches.
