Prime Minister's announcement of privatization of all government institutions except strategic state-owned enterprises
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has announced the privatization of all other government-owned enterprises except strategic state-owned enterprises.
According to ARY News, under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Ministry of Privatization held a meeting related to Privatization Commission Affairs in which the roadmap of Privatization Program 2024-29 was presented.
Addressing the meeting, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that apart from strategic state-owned enterprises, all other state-owned enterprises, whether they are profitable or loss-making, will be privatized.
In this regard, the Prime Minister directed all federal ministries to take necessary action and to cooperate with the Privatization Commission, saying that the government's job is not to do business, but to ensure a friendly environment for business and investment, and to provide facilities and ease.
He said transparency will be given top priority in the privatization process, while privatization will save taxpayers' money and the proceeds will help improve the quality of service delivery.
