Social media personalities Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate have been arrested in Miami by U.S. authorities as Britain seeks their extradition to face allegations including rape and human trafficking, marking a major new development in the brothers’ years-long international legal battles.
The U.S. Marshals Service confirmed to The Associated Press that the brothers were taken into custody in Miami on a sealed warrant. British authorities are seeking their extradition to the United Kingdom, where prosecutors have brought multiple criminal charges against them. The brothers deny wrongdoing.
What Charges Do Andrew and Tristan Tate Face?
According to Reuters, British prosecutors have announced 38 new charges involving alleged offenses between 2010 and 2017 and concerning four additional alleged victims. Combined with previously authorized charges, the brothers now face a total of 59 charges in the UK, Reuters reported.
The allegations include rape, human trafficking and other offenses. Reuters reported that Andrew Tate faces new rape and sex-trafficking allegations as well as offenses involving indecent images of a child, while Tristan Tate faces rape allegations and counts involving trafficking for sexual exploitation. These remain allegations, and both men have denied wrongdoing.
Earlier, in May 2025, Britain’s Crown Prosecution Service said it had authorized 21 criminal charges against the brothers. Andrew Tate faced 10 charges at that stage, including rape, actual bodily harm, human trafficking and controlling prostitution for gain, while Tristan Tate faced 11 charges including rape and human trafficking.

The latest arrests took place in Miami, Florida.
The U.S. Marshals Service told News that Andrew and Tristan Tate were arrested by federal authorities on a sealed warrant while British authorities pursue their extradition. The brothers are expected to appear in federal court in Miami as the extradition process moves forward.
