Power Outages Hit France as Record-Breaking Heatwave Pushes Grid to the Limit
A record-breaking heatwave across Europe has triggered major power outages in France, leaving tens of thousands of households without electricity as temperatures surged above 40°C in several regions. Authorities said a heat-related transformer failure in northwestern France knocked out power to around 68,000 homes, while more than 100,000 customers were affected at the peak of the disruption.
