UK Sanctions 12 Individuals and Groups Over Alleged Iran Links
The UK government has imposed sanctions on 12 individuals and organizations allegedly connected to Iran, accusing them of involvement in “hostile activity” targeting the United Kingdom and allied countries.
According to the UK Foreign Office, the sanctioned individuals and entities are suspected of planning attacks, supporting destabilizing operations, and providing financial assistance to groups accused of threatening security and stability.
The new sanctions include:
- Asset freezes
- Travel bans
- Director disqualification orders
British authorities said several of those targeted are allegedly linked to the “Zindashti criminal network,” which UK officials describe as an organized crime group connected to Iran-backed operations.
The UK government stated the measures are part of broader efforts to counter foreign threats and protect national security.
Iran has repeatedly denied involvement in alleged attacks or plots in the UK and other Western countries, rejecting accusations of supporting destabilization efforts abroad.
The latest move comes amid rising tensions between Western governments and Tehran over regional security, intelligence operations, and alleged cross-border influence campaigns.
