LAHORE: Unannounced power cuts across Lahore have intensified public hardship, with outages far exceeding the government’s announced schedule.
Despite an official limit of around 2.25 hours daily, residents report 3–4 hours of load-shedding in cities and up to 8 hours in rural areas, disrupting daily life.
Frequent and unpredictable power cuts have also triggered water shortages, as electricity outages clash with supply timings, leaving many households without water.
Officials say the cuts aim to reduce fuel costs, but for citizens facing rising temperatures, the situation is becoming increasingly unbearable.
