BEIJING: China has strongly denied reports that it secretly helped Iran target US military bases using satellite intelligence, calling the allegations “fabricated”.

A report by the Financial Times claimed Iran used a Chinese-made satellite to monitor and strike US installations across the Middle East.

However, China’s foreign ministry dismissed the claims, accusing unnamed forces of spreading “malicious rumours” to damage Beijing’s image.

The report alleged the satellite tracked key US sites in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain and Iraq ahead of attacks.

The White House and CIA have not officially confirmed the claims, while verification remains unclear.
