Babar Azam Makes PSL History, Becomes First Player to Cross 4,000 Runs

KARACHI: Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam has etched his name in Pakistan Super League history by becoming the first player to surpass the 4,000-run milestone in the tournament.
The landmark achievement came during Zalmi’s clash against Lahore Qalandars at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi, where Babar once again demonstrated his consistency at the crease.
The right-handed batter scored a steady 43 runs, playing a composed innings that included three boundaries and a six. In doing so, he crossed the historic 4,000-run mark in his PSL career.
Babar reached the milestone in just over 100 appearances, maintaining an impressive strike rate close to 128. His record also reflects remarkable consistency, with dozens of half-centuries and multiple centuries to his name.
Meanwhile, Lahore Qalandars’ Fakhar Zaman remains the second-highest run-scorer in PSL history, though still significantly behind Babar. Other top performers in the league include Mohammad Rizwan, Rilee Rossouw, and Shoaib Malik.
