By Shahazaib Saqib

CHILAS: A vehicle carrying tourists went missing on Sunday in Chilas, and a search operation is currently underway, according to police sources.

After families reported them missing, police launched a search operation across checkpoints and mountainous areas.

The vehicle was last seen in CCTV footage at Gini Petrol Pump at 5:47 AM on Sunday.

Police confirmed that evidence suggests the missing vehicle entered the boundaries of Diamer district.

Search operations are being conducted in the River Indus, Chilas for the missing tourists, but no clues have been found so far.The missing tourists are reportedly from Peshawar and were returning from Skardu. The missing tourists have been identified as Usman Ahmed, Noor Ahmed, Laha Usman, and Mehraj Bibi.

Police say efforts are ongoing and all available resources are being used to trace the missing tourists.

It is worth noting that this is not the first such incident. Just last month, the bodies of four young tourists from Gujrat district in Punjab, who had gone missing for over a week during a road trip to Skardu, were recovered after their vehicle was found in a ravine near Astak Nallah on the Gilgit-Skardu road.
