Naila Raja breaks silence on Imad Wasim affair rumours
ISLAMABAD: Social media influencer Naila Raja has finally broken her silence on the alleged affair rumours involving Pakistani cricketer Imad Wasim. She has strongly denied the speculation and called the claims baseless.
Recently, rumours circulated online suggesting that Imad Wasim’s strained relationship with his wife, Saniya Ashfaq, was due to his alleged affair.
A video from London went viral in which Imad Wasim was seen walking with a woman. Many users claimed the woman was Naila Raja. Soon after, a wave of criticism erupted against Imad, accusing him of disloyalty to his pregnant wife and calling it a “shameful act.”
While Imad has not commented on the issue, Naila Raja released a detailed statement on Instagram, saying the matter had gone too far and she could no longer stay silent.
Naila clarified that the video and story being discussed were posted by her on her own Instagram account, it wasn’t a secret. She questioned how a simple story could be the reason for someone’s divorce. She added that in our society, honour is always linked to women, while people forget that women also have dignity and respect.
Criticising social behaviour, Naila said, we live in a society where people are quick to judge others without context, just to feel morally superior. She also highlighted that such attitudes contribute to issues like honour-based violence and killings.
She further explained that the video in question was taken outside an optical store in London. The person who recorded it deliberately focused from an angle that ignored other people present at the scene.
Naila said she accepts some level of criticism as a public figure, but appealed to people not to drag her into matters that have nothing to do with her.
She also revealed that her brother was receiving provocative messages telling him to “control his sister.” She expressed strong anger over this and said she is a woman who has built her life with dignity, hard work, and self-respect.
It’s worth mentioning that this is not the first time Imad Wasim has been accused of being in an inappropriate relationship. In the past, his alleged connection with an Afghan girl also made headlines, along with viral pictures of the two.
