LAHORE: A petition has been filed in a Lahore sessions court seeking registration of a blasphemy case against YouTuber and TikToker Rajab Butt over allegedly “using inappropriate language” on a religious topic in a recent social media video.

This is not the first time Rajab Butt has landed in legal trouble. In March 2025, a blasphemy and cybercrime case under the PECA Act was registered against him after he allegedly mocked religious sentiments during the launch of his perfume brand. After the accusation, Rajab Butt had issued a video apology while performing Umrah.

Now, a fresh plea has been submitted by a citizen, Shehzada Adnan, through his counsel Adv Mudassar Chaudhry against the YouTuber. The petitioner told the court that Rajab Butt gave “offensive” remarks in a video, hurting religious sentiments.

The petitioner, while pleading for claimed that he had earlier approached the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), but no FIR had been lodged.

The court has issued a notice to the NCCIA, seeking a reply on the matter.

The most recent controversary involving Rajab Butt emerged in May 2025, when he was seen in a viral video assaulting a civilian in broad daylight in Lahore. Following public backlash, he again issued a public apology.

In June, Rajab Butt, along with TikToker Maan Dogar and three others, was named in an FIR filed by a female social media influencer, accusing them of kidnapping, rape, blackmail, and illegal confinement.

The complainant alleged she was drugged and assaulted by Butt’s relative Salman Haider, who then used the footage to blackmail her. She further claimed that Butt and his associates held her at a residence in Lahore’s Nawab Town.
