Balochistan CM vows revenge after deadly Khuzdar school bus attack
WEB DESK: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Wednesday strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a school bus in Khuzdar that killed four children and injured several others, vowing to “uproot terrorism completely” and bring the perpetrators to justice.
Addressing the press conference, Bugti revealed that 46 children were aboard the bus when it was targeted using an improvised explosive device (IED). The wounded have been shifted to Quetta hospitals for emergency treatment.
“This cowardly attack on innocent children exposes India’s moral bankruptcy,” the chief minister said, alleging Indian proxies were behind the assault. He claimed Pakistan had prior intelligence about India planning such operations in Balochistan.
Bugti specifically blamed “banned BLA and BLF terrorists” for the attack, asserting: “These Indian proxies only attack soft targets because they lack courage for direct confrontation.” He warned that “the sacred blood of martyred children won’t go in vain,” promising retaliatory action against each perpetrator.
The CM also addressed Afghanistan’s responsibilities, reminding Kabul of its international commitments to prevent its soil from being used against neighbors. “The Afghan government must honour its promises to the world,” he stressed.
Bugti ruled out large-scale military operations, instead promising enhanced counterterrorism measures. He cited the elimination of 280+ terrorists last year as evidence of security forces’ effectiveness.
“The Pakistani state will now adopt a hardline approach,” Bugti declared, while assuring citizens: “Peace will return to Balochistan – roads won’t be closed anymore.”
