PTI activist Sanam Javed, husband arrested

LAHORE: Police arrested Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist Sanam Javed and her husband, Professor Atiq, near Kot Lakhpat Jail on Monday.

A heavy police presence, with multiple vehicles, was seen during their detention. The couple was taken to an undisclosed location for further investigation.

The arrest took place shortly after a court hearing related to the May 9 cases, which Sanam Javed had been attending.

Sanam has been previously linked to the political unrest following the May 9 incidents, which triggered multiple legal cases against PTI members.

Authorities have yet to announce the specific charges against the couple.
