 The decision to suspend the Pakistani passport of those seeking political asylum abroad is reversed


The decision to suspend the issuance of Pakistani passports for those seeking political asylum abroad was withdrawn.

A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar in which several important issues related to the welfare of Overseas Pakistanis were discussed.

Foreign Secretary, Interior Secretary, officials of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and others participated in the meeting.

The Deputy Prime Minister was briefed on the timely issuance of passports to overseas Pakistanis.

It was informed in the briefing that the passports of overseas Pakistanis will be issued within 60 days.

The decision to suspend the issuance of Pakistani passports to those seeking political asylum abroad was withdrawn. It should be noted that the circular suspending the issuance of Pakistani passports to asylum seekers was issued on June 5, 2024.
