Right-wing party defeated in French parliamentary elections
Paris: The right-wing party has faced defeat in the results of the second phase of early parliamentary elections in France.
Voting took place in France on Sunday for the second round of early parliamentary elections, with candidates contesting a total of 577 seats.
According to foreign media reports, after the results of the second round of voting, the left-wing Popular Front was in the lead with 182 votes and President Macron's party was in second place with 163 percent of the votes, while the highest number of votes in the first round. The far-right National Rally came third with 143 seats.
It should be remembered that according to the exit poll results of the first phase of the French elections on June 30, the far-right party National Rally was first with 34 percent of the votes, the left-wing party Popular Front was second with 28.1 percent of the votes and the party of President Macron. She stood third with 20.3 percent votes.
After the results of the second phase, no party could secure the minimum required 289 seats to form the government and any party may have to resort to other parties to get the prime ministership.
