Government forced to kneel before people power in Kenya, 37 state institutions dissolved

NAIROBI: In Kenya, the government was forced to kneel before people power, 37 state institutions were dissolved.

People power has brought the government to its knees in the East African country of Kenya, with President William Ruto announcing massive government spending cuts on Friday, according to foreign media reports.

Along with halving the number of advisers, the government has also dissolved 37 state institutions, while even 60-year-old civil servants will have to retire immediately without any extension.

Purchase of official vehicles has been banned for one year, non-essential travel of state officials has also been banned.

It should be noted that riots erupted in Kenya against additional taxes and government spending, with youth leading the massive protests that forced President Ruto to scrap the finance bill containing the tax hike.
