WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has returned home after a 14-year legal battle
WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has returned to his hometown of Canberra in Australia after a 14-year legal battle and 62 months in prison.
Julian Assange was acquitted by the Mariana Islands court, after his release, the United States banned Julian Assange from returning to the United States without permission. The founder of WikiLeaks was released on bail by the London High Court yesterday. Assange released classified US information in 2010.
Before arriving in Australia, he confessed to violating US espionage laws in the Pacific island of Saipan, after this agreement, he has now returned home to Australia.
During that time, he faced a 14-year-long and extraordinary legal battle that has now come to an end.
Assange's wife, Stella Assange, said in a statement that he now needs time to rest before speaking publicly.
