The demand of the US Congress to investigate the alleged rigging in the general elections of Pakistan
The US Congress, refusing to recognize Pakistan's recent elections as free and fair, demanded a transparent investigation into the alleged rigging of general elections in Pakistan.
The US Congress passed Resolution 7 by a majority of 368 votes to 7, calling for an independent and impartial investigation into the election, condemning the disruption of internet and telecommunications facilities.
According to the text of the resolution, there should be an independent investigation into allegations of interference and irregularities in the February 8 election, condemning efforts to suppress the public to prevent them from participating in the democratic process.
The resolution condemned intimidation, imprisonment and harassment to prevent people from participating in the democratic process.
It should be noted that this is a non-binding resolution of the US Congress, which is not necessary for the government to follow.
