"We will not feed the attackers with cakes and pastries, they have targeted terrorists in Afghanistan and will continue to do so in the future"
Defense Minister Khawaja Asif says that the government is not needed for the operation against the terrorists.
While giving an interview to the British broadcasting organization, Khawaja Asif said that to deal with the recent wave of terrorism, there is a need for operation with new passion and intensity, after the intensity of the incidents of terrorism in the last one year, a new line-up was made. It was necessary, this time the operation will not involve any displacement but the operation will be conducted on intelligence basis.
He said that after the military operations conducted in the past, terrorism was not expected to increase again in the country, but unfortunately, terrorism has re-emerged in the country, therefore, the operation of stability, not the army, is needed by the government and the government is responsible for it. It should also be taken care of.
There have been several events in the past decade that have led to increased terrorism, including the withdrawal of NATO and US forces from Afghanistan and the repatriation of TTP militants during Imran Khan's regime in Pakistan.
The defense minister said that it was hoped that the Afghan government would cooperate with us, but the Afghan Taliban did not seem ready to take action against the militants because they were their allies.
Khawaja Asif said that after talking to the Taliban, his attempt to bring back 4,000 to 5,000 people failed and those Taliban associates who were operating from Afghanistan found shelter in Pakistan, now they are coming. They live in their homes and then do activities.
Khawaja Asif said that Pakistan will continue the operations against the Taliban hideouts in Afghanistan, it has carried out operations against the Taliban on the border and will continue to do so in the future.
On the question about PTI Founder Chairman, Khawaja Asif said that there is no threat to the government from the release of Imran Khan, if Imran Khan wants, then he should negotiate with the establishment. So what will the establishment object to?
The federal minister said that there are ups and downs in politics and they should not be considered a threat. The government is ready to talk to PTI, but I don't think that the PTI founders will take the Prime Minister's offer of talks seriously.
