 South Africa defeated Afghanistan by 9 wickets to reach the T20 World Cup final


In the first semi-final of T20 World Cup, South Africa qualified for the final for the first time by defeating Afghanistan after a one-sided contest by 9 wickets.

Afghanistan's batting line proved to be a wall of sand in front of the South African bowlers, giving a target of only 57 runs for the win, South Africa achieved the required target with the loss of 1 wicket in 8.4 overs.

Batting first after winning the toss against South Africa, the entire Afghanistan team was bowled out for just 56 runs in 11.5 overs.

Afghanistan's batting line-up struggled against South Africa in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup, no batsman could compete with the South African bowlers.

First innings

On behalf of Afghanistan, only Azmatullah Umarzai has managed to score 10 runs, Rehmanullah Garbaz, Muhammad Nabi and Noor Ahmad were out for zero.

Ibrahim Zadran 2, Gulbuddin Naib 9, Ningyalia Kharote 2, Karim Jannat 8, Rashid Khan 8 and Naveen ul Haq scored 2 runs.

Second innings

Fazl Haq Farooqui took the only wicket of the innings for Afghanistan.

For the first semi-final of the event, the teams of Afghanistan and South Africa faced each other at the Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad.

Today, the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup will be played between India and England at 7:30 PM in Providence, the final of the event will be played in Bridgetown on Saturday, June 29.

It should be noted that Afghanistan had upset the dangerous team of the event in the Super 8 stage.
