In Kenya, 10 people were killed in police firing as people took to the streets against the government's proposed tax hike.
According to media reports, hundreds of protesters stormed the parliament building in the capital Nairobi and set fire to different parts of the building.
The police fired tear gas shells and water cannons to disperse the protesters, the protesters pelted stones at the police vehicles.
