Israeli citizens protest against the government, calling Netanyahu a 'crime minister'
In Israel's capital, Tel Aviv, thousands of protesters rallied against Prime Minister Netanyahu's government, demanding an end to the war in Gaza and the return of hostages.
According to foreign media, large protests are taking place in Tel Aviv on a weekly basis against the Netanyahu government's handling of the war.
"I'm here because I'm afraid for my grandchildren's future, they won't have a future if we don't get out and get rid of this horrible government," said Shai Earle, a 66-year-old contractor who participated in the protest.
According to an estimate by the anti-government protest organization Hofshi Israel, more than 150,000 people participated in the rally, calling it the largest rally since the start of the Gaza war.
Some protesters were protesting in the city's Democracy Square by lying on the ground wearing red paint.
Addressing the protestors, former head of Israel's internal security agency Shin Bet, Yuval Diskin, called Netanyahu the worst prime minister of Israel.
Many are frustrated by the country's right-wing coalition, which includes Security Minister Atmar Ben Guerr and other far-right ultranationalists, accusing the protesters of prolonging the Gaza war and endangering the country's security and hostages. Allege.
Yoram, a 50-year-old tour guide who declined to give his last name, said he attends weekly protests because Israel needs to run elections because of Netanyahu, who hopes the government falls. Gee, if we go to the actual date of elections in 2026, it will not be a democratic election.
