 Chairman Senate Yousaf Raza Gilani received a threatening message on his mobile phone


Multan: Chairman Senate Yousaf Raza Gilani received a threatening message from an unknown person on his mobile phone.

A case was registered against an unknown person in Cantt police station on the complaint of Ali Musa Gilani, son of Yusuf Raza Gilani, on the threatening message.

According to the FIR, a threat was made regarding Member National Assembly Ali Musa Geelani in Pegam, the location of the Pegam number was traced to Khanewal.

A team of police personnel including CIA in-charge was formed under the leadership of SP Tahir Majeed. The police officials say that they have started a series of raids for the immediate arrest of the accused.

Yusuf Raza Gilani was elected unopposed as Chairman Senate on April 9, 2024. Compared to them, no one had submitted nomination papers.

Similarly, Sardar Syed All Khan of Muslim League (N) was elected as the Deputy Chairman of the Senate unopposed. Yusuf Raza Gilani and Syedal Khan Nasir were the candidates of the government coalition.

The Senate Secretariat prepared the uncontested results of the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Senate while the Senate Secretariat prepared the report regarding the independent senators sitting on the government and opposition benches.

Later, Yusuf Raza Gilani was sworn in as the chairman of the Senate. Presiding Officer Ishaq Dar administered the oath to him.
