Construction of stadium in New York for T20 World Cup enters final stages

New York: The construction of a cricket stadium in the American city of New York for the T20 World Cup 2024 has entered the final stages.

The ICCT20 World Cup match between Pakistan and India is scheduled on June 9 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

The ICC has released the latest video of the stadium, which shows the East and West Stands nearing completion while construction continues on the premium hospitality and media pavilions at the North and South Ends, with a capacity of 24,000 spectators. There is room for sitting.

All India's group matches will be played at the stadium, while the biggest match of the mega event will be between arch-rivals Pakistan and India on June 9.

ICC Head of Events Chris Tetley says he is delighted construction is progressing according to plan, with less than 2 months to go before action begins at the Nassau Cricket Stadium.

Fans can still get tickets for World Cup matches, with more limited tickets released for each match on Thursday.
