Alert of heavy rains in Punjab
The Meteorological Department has predicted more rains in different parts of the country during this week with intermittent winds, gusts and thunderstorms.
Citizens have been advised to be cautious in view of the fears of flooding in rivers and streams due to heavy rains, landslides in mountainous areas and damage to weak infrastructure.
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued an alert for more rains across Punjab. According to Director General PDMA Punjab Ali Irfan, there are chances of heavy rain across the province from April 18 to 21.
DG PDMA says that heavy rains, lightning and strong winds are predicted, while an alert has also been issued to WASA, Punjab Police and Civil Defense in this regard. DG Irfan Ali said that the PDMA control room is active 24 hours a day.
According to the Meteorological Department, another series of westerly winds will enter the western regions of Balochistan on the night of April 16, cover most of the districts of Balochistan on April 17 and spread to the upper regions of the country on April 18.
