US-Iran Ceasefire Shakes as Gulf Missile Clash Hits Kuwait and Bahrain

The fragile U.S.-Iran ceasefire faced one of its sharpest tests yet after American forces struck Iranian radar sites and intercepted drones near the Strait of Hormuz, followed by Iranian missile attacks aimed at Gulf locations hosting U.S. forces.

U.S. Central Command said Iranian drones and missiles were shot down, including attacks directed toward Kuwait and Bahrain. Officials said seven missiles were launched, six were intercepted and one failed to reach its target. Iran said its strikes were retaliation for U.S. action, while Tehran accused Washington of violating the ceasefire.

The clash puts new pressure on already stalled peace efforts. Kuwait condemned the Iranian attack as a violation of its sovereignty, while Bahrain reported security alerts as the confrontation spread beyond Iran and the U.S. into key Gulf states. The Strait of Hormuz remains the biggest concern because any wider fighting there could threaten global oil shipments and send energy prices higher.
