London is under one of its largest security operations in recent years as police manage rival protests, massive crowds, and the FA Cup final on the same day.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that around 4,000 officers have been deployed across the capital, including hundreds brought in from other regions, to prevent clashes between a pro-Palestine Nakba Day march and a “Unite the Kingdom” rally linked to Tommy Robinson.
Authorities described the operation as “unprecedented in recent years,” with security measures including:
- police horses
- drones
- helicopters
- dog units
- armored vehicles
The demonstrations are taking place alongside the FA Cup Final between Chelsea F.C. and Manchester City F.C. at Wembley Stadium, raising fears some football fans could join political rallies afterward.
Police estimate nearly 80,000 protesters combined could attend the rival demonstrations.
Several arrests have already been made as officers attempt to keep both sides separated under strict protest restrictions.
Officials also warned of heightened tensions amid rising antisemitic and anti-Muslim incidents across Britain.
