A Utah judge has delayed the preliminary hearing in the high-profile assassination case of Charlie Kirk while allowing cameras to remain inside the courtroom.

Judge Tony Graf Jr. pushed the hearing against accused gunman Tyler Robinson to July 6–10, citing the massive amount of evidence still being reviewed by both prosecutors and defense attorneys.

The defense argued that heavy media coverage and livestreamed court proceedings could influence potential jurors, claiming most local residents already know about the case. However, the judge rejected a request to ban cameras, ruling that public access and courtroom transparency remain important.

Robinson faces aggravated murder charges in the September 2025 killing of Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA. Prosecutors say the case could qualify for the death penalty.

Legal experts believe the defense may be building grounds for future appeals by challenging media access and other pretrial issues.
