Washington (SCN News ) President  Donald Trump has announced that a United States delegation will travel to Islamabad on Monday for potential talks aimed at ending the ongoing US-Israel war with Iran, but Tehran has already signaled refusal under current conditions.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump confirmed the move but did not disclose which officials would lead the delegation. Last week’s negotiations, reportedly led by JD Vance, ended without any breakthrough.
⚠️ Iran Rejects Talks Over ‘Naval Blockade’
Iranian media outlets, including Tasnim News Agency and Islamic Republic News Agency, reported that Tehran has refused to send a delegation to Pakistan as long as a US naval blockade on its ports remains in place.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry termed the blockade “unlawful and criminal”, warning it violates the Pakistan-brokered ceasefire and amounts to collective punishment.
🚨 Trump Issues Strong Threat
Trump escalated rhetoric, warning:
“If Iran does not accept the deal, the United States will knock out every power plant and every bridge.”
He also accused Iran of breaching the fragile ceasefire by firing in the Strait of Hormuz.
🌊 Strait of Hormuz Crisis Deepens
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard forces announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, just hours after reopening it, linking the move directly to the US blockade.
Meanwhile, US Central Command confirmed it has already forced 23 ships to turn back, enforcing restrictions around Iranian ports.
🧠 Talks Still ‘Far From Final Stage’
Iranian officials, including Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh, acknowledged “some progress” in earlier talks but stressed that major disagreements remain, especially over Iran’s nuclear programme.
Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf admitted:
“We are still far from the final discussion.”
🇵🇰 Pakistan’s Mediation Continues
Pakistan remains at the center of diplomacy, with Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Iran’s Abbas Araghchi holding fresh talks, emphasizing urgent dialogue to de-escalate tensions.
