Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday expressed gratitude to international leaders for acknowledging Pakistan’s key role in facilitating the recent ceasefire between the United States and Iran, highlighting the country’s rising diplomatic influence on the global stage.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, French President Emmanuel Macron praised Pakistan’s mediation efforts during a telephone call with the premier. He congratulated Pakistan for helping bring both sides to the negotiating table and extended best wishes for the upcoming peace talks scheduled in Islamabad.

PM Shehbaz thanked President Macron for his support and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region. Both leaders also expressed concern over ongoing violence in Lebanon and emphasized the urgent need to restore peace.

In a separate call, Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa appreciated Pakistan’s successful role in securing a two-week ceasefire, calling it a significant step toward lasting regional peace.

The prime minister also offered condolences over the loss of lives in Bahrain during recent hostilities and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. Both sides agreed to continue working closely for regional stability and cooperation.
