Maulana Fazlur Rehman announces nationwide protests as public concerns growover rising fuel prices in Pakistan.
(SCN PESHAWAR) Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has announced nationwide protests on Friday in response to the recent increase in petroleum prices.
Addressing a press conference in Peshawar, Fazlur Rehman expressed concern over the growing financial burden on the public, stating that rising costs have made daily life increasingly difficult for ordinary citizens.
He said demonstrations will take place across the country, calling on the public to raise their voice against inflation and economic pressure. He also criticized the current governance structure, alleging that key decisions are not reflecting the needs of the people.
The JUI-F leader further commented on international developments, linking Pakistan’s internal challenges to the broader global situation. He emphasized the need for transparency and suggested that lawmakers should be briefed on sensitive matters through a closed-door parliamentary session.
Fazlur Rehman also raised concerns about law and order conditions and economic stability, urging authorities to take concrete steps to address public grievances.
More updates are expected as preparations for the nationwide protests continue.
