India has lost one of its most iconic musical voices as Asha Bhosle, the legendary playback singer known for her unmatched versatility, passed away at the age of 92, according to Press Trust of India.

She had been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in South Mumbai following a chest infection and exhaustion. By Sunday, her remarkable musical journey came to a quiet end.

Her last rites are scheduled to take place at Shivaji Park Crematorium at 4pm, while fans and admirers are expected to gather at her residence from 11am to pay their final respects.

A Voice That Defined Generations

From her early struggles in the 1940s to becoming a dominant force in the 1950s and 1960s, Asha Bhosle built a career that few could match.

Her breakthrough came with films like Naya Daur, followed by legendary collaborations with composers such as O.P. Nayyar, S.D. Burman, and R.D. Burman.
